U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio is demanding federal reviews of local charter schools. Ohio has a few charter schools that have received grant money.
Brown and other politicians have voiced concerns about the lack of federal oversight of charter schools. The goal of their ask is to see if Ohio schools that have received funding, compare unfavorably to the grant recipients in other states.
Charter schools are coming under increased scrutiny is other places as well.
