Google, Microsoft, and Apple are going to be getting a little competition in the new market of educational services from Amazon’s new foray, Amazon Inspire.
Amazon plans to offer lesson plans, worksheets and other instructional materials for teachers by this upcoming school year. The interface will reportedly look very similar to Amazon’s existing platform that consumers are already accustomed to. Given Amazon’s existing market share on digital media, particularly books, the transition is a natural one.
The classroom is the newest frontier for tech companies, and a potentially very lucrative one. The educational tech arms race is likely just heating up.
