Glenda Ritz has announced plans to increase safety in Indiana schools. Some of the plans were in the process of being implemented already, and others are plans that will be proposed at the next legislative session.
The plans include:
- Getting schools to the point where they can perform regular background checks
- Better training to spot signs of problems
- Focusing on Indiana’s School Safety Academy program
- Making sure educators who have been convicted of crimes have their licenses revoked faster
