Literacy is huge gap in America. More than a few promotions have attempted to solve that problem. Some are more successful than others, but a Michigan barbershop has found one promotion that works.
The books reflect the clientele of the barbershop, which is mostly African American. Kids can choose from a wide range of black themed books, from Obama to the civil rights movement. As of late, the barbershop has received many donations of books.
This is a promotion that has been done in other places around the country as well.
