In Indy, when you hear these three words, “It is May,” you know people are referring to the Indy 500. Now, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) wants us to say, “It is December!” Just like Winterlights is in its second year this holiday season, so is Lights at the Brickyard.
My boys and I had the opportunity to check out these lights with the organization Renaissance Kids, Inc. We turned up some good ‘ole holiday music and drove around the speedway. According to the IMS website, “Lights at the Brickyard is a 2+ mile drive-through lights display at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with more than 3 million lights spanning over 500 displays in roughly 40 scenes.”
This event runs from November 16 through December 30. The cost is $50 for vehicles with 15 people or more. Vehicles with 14 people or less cost $25 Monday-Wednesday and $30 Thursday-Sunday. It is open from 6-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
If you love holiday lights, I suggest you add Lights at the Brickyard to your winter break activities.
