Teacher pay seems to be one of those issues that everyone has an opinion. You may have a chance to voice that opinion in the near future.
Governor Eric Holcomb is sending his teacher compensation commission across the state of Indiana to hold three hearings on the subject of teacher pay and compensation. There will be input sessions in which “ideas and solutions” will be solicited from the public.
The hearings will be held:
- Monday, August 19: Indianapolis
- Saturday, August 24: Evansville
- Tuesday, August 27: Elkhart
Specific locations and times will be released later and Indy K12 will update this post as soon as that information becomes available.
The goal of the hearings is to make teacher pay in Indiana comparable to that of the surrounding states.
If you cannot make it to the hearing, your comments can also be submitted online here.
