Earlier this week, President Biden stated he wanted teachers across America to be prioritized for the COVID-19 vaccine. When Biden made that push, Indiana teachers were not being prioritized for the vaccine. Instead, an age-based approach was in place starting with the oldest Hoosiers.
Now, teachers will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Gov. Eric Holcomb stated Hoosier teachers, of all ages, will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine through sites using the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. Locations in Indiana that meet this requirement are Walmart, Kroger, and Meijer.
If a teacher is 5o or older, the teacher can receive the COVID-19 vaccine from any site.
This is a developing story and additional details will be added once confirmed.
