5. A Unified Indianapolis School System
It was like David McGuire could see into the future. Back in May, he wrote about the potential benefits of charter networks unifying. Later this year, we saw charter networks uniting to push for IPS to share its referendum money.
4. Charterapolis: The Story that Needs to be Told
In this piece, McGuire pondered about writing a book about how charter schools have impacted the education landscape in Indianapolis.
3. Updated COVID-19 Guidelines Might Convince School Districts to Implement a Mask Mandate
COVID-19 guidelines inside of school buildings was still a hot topic at the beginning of 2022. It is no surprise that a piece about COVID-19 guidance landed in our top ten.
2. Can Your Instructional Coach Actually Teach?
Ask any teacher in any building and you will receive varying opinions about instructional coaches for teachers. Among those complaints will be the fact that some teachers do not respect their instructional coach because they do not believe they can teach. Pillow held no punches in exploring that idea.
1. An Inner City Teacher’s Review of ‘Abbott Elementary’
‘Abbott Elementary,’ a mockumentary, gave viewers an inside look at life in an elementary school set in an urban setting. Many teachers could relate to the television show, and Pillow explained why.
